This is a nice campground in the Catskills near Phoenecia, NY. The sites are spaced apart and separated by brush. The fire rings are the best I've seen anywhere - large stone fireplaces with a cooking grate. There is a beach on the river here. The site has odd garbage collection hours due to the many resident black bears in the area. We didn't see any bears while in New York, nor did we see any bear sign, but several weary campers near us claim they saw bears near their campsites. This campground is the trailhead for several popular hiking trails, including the Wittenberg - Cornell - Slide Mountain Trail. We highly recommend this campground.
