The Gandy Creek Dispersed Camping Area is a great place to camp. State Route 29 in Randolph County, WV, follows the scenic Gandy Creek. Here and there along the roadside are designated campsites. Most of the sites are huge and will easily hold multiple tents, EZ-Ups, tarps, etc. The sites are free, first come first served. You can stay at any site for a maximum of two weeks. It should be noted that the roads into this area are dirt and gravel and can be rough and muddy. It is recommended that you have a higher clearance or 4WD vehicle to get back to this area.
